My Approach
I am committed to helping you in the best way I can. In order to do so I need to ask lots of questions. Everything about you interests me: it isn’t only about what happened to you, it is also about how what happened to you has affected you, both physically and emotionally.
I use a combination of practices to help you clear past pain and discomfort. Traditionally with aromatherapy treatments, before I introduced EFT into my practice, I would blend the oils according to what I found was underlying the problem. For example, a young child might come suffering from eczema. After asking a few questions, we might discover that it has been there since the age of 3 months. As in other therapies, I would look at what was going on at the time to help me in my choice of oils. It could be the moment of seperation when the mother had to return to work and the infant had to go to nursery. We could possibly use a blend of chamomile to apply locally in massage. There may be other problems. Commonly, the problem may be one suffered by other members of the family on either the mother’s or father’s side (or both). Using essential oils to treat children gently can be remarkably effective. In my experience however, if there is an underlying emotional block then oils may alleviate the symptoms but not necessarily the emotions associated. Therefore, I often prefer to proceed by using EFT tapping. This is useful when treating children. They are generally accompanied by a parent, so the parent and I do the tapping for the child while they remain involved: they may tap along or play alongside us as we tap. Nearly always, no matter how young, I find them tapping or climbing onto a knee as the attention focuses on them. I follow this up with a massage (sometimes a 4-footed foot massage (parent and child together on the couch)) and thus release any remaining physical tensions and pressures we have just worked on using EFT.
